Types of Immunodeficiency Disorders

Primary Immunodeficiency Disorders (PIDs):
Congenital: Present at birth and usually inherited, these disorders result from genetic defects that affect the immune system. Examples include Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), and DiGeorge Syndrome.
Syndromic Immunodeficiencies: Conditions where immunodeficiency is part of a broader syndrome, such as Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome and Ataxia-Telangiectasia.

Secondary Immunodeficiency Disorders:

Acquired: These disorders develop due to external factors such as infections, malnutrition, chemotherapy, or certain medications. Examples include Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) leading to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), and immunosuppression due to organ transplantation.
